Mending Kids International - Charity, Helping Children, Sick Kids, No Healthcare, Medical Care, Non Profit
ABOUT US • Mission / History • Board / Staff / Hospitals
The mission of Mending Kids International is to organize, finance and provide life-changing medical care to children worldwide. Mending Kids International believes that all children have the right to quality medical care. Seeking treatment in many countries can be discouraging. Often it simply isn't available. That's where we come in. MKI offers hope to children around the world by arranging medical treatment for those who suffer from serious yet surgically correctable medical conditions. Our HistoryThe story of Mending Kids International began with Cris Embleton. Years ago, Cris's adopted daughter died just three weeks shy of her first birthday when $5 worth of medicine would have saved her. She began thinking about the choices parents around the world have to make when they are forced to put a child up for adoption because of their need for expensive medical care. Cris set a goal to help one child receive medical treatment. And then she helped another. She soon found herself helping children all around the world through her non-profit organization, Healing the Children. She eventually broke off from the group and started Mending Kids International, currently based in Canyon Country.

Help For Haiti
The devastating earthquake in Haiti has left many children needing surgery and many American medical teams are trying to address as quickly as possible. Mending Kids International is proud to have brought in our first child from Haiti who required surgery from extensive injuries. We have placed her with a loving host family and have accepted another who is receiving critical care in Florida. Check back for more updates on our Haitian girls and look for photos coming soon! Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Haiti and our arms are extended to provide comfort, support and surgical care as soon as it is needed.
